W2 Horses is more proud than ever to offer you, A Boy Named Sue A. āSue,ā as we call him, is a majestic and athletic 6-year-old registered Missouri Fox Trotter gelding that stands 15.3 hh. Sue checks all the boxes with his exquisite conformation, beautiful dapples, and an extensive list of talents and skills. We have owned Sue for four years, during which he has excelled in our program from start to finish. We could tell from the beginning he was going to be extra special. Sue is among the most intelligent and talented horses we have ever owned and trained. His training abilities and talents exceed any other horse we have ever offered. If you are looking for a smart, fun, skilled, athletic, and gentle gelding with tons of personality, you have found the one!
Sue is a solid and finished trail horse with years of experience. He has been ridden all over the country, from the rough terrain of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wyoming to the Southeast. Sue has a fancy way of going with a beautiful headset, fantastic running walk, smooth gait, and slow lope you will love to ride all day! His gait is solid and smooth all the time with any rider. His good ground-covering walk and willingness to go where you send him make him a pleasure to ride. Sue knows how to put in a hard days work, is always up for any task, and loves a job.
Sue was started properly with basic groundwork before he ever learned to ride. He knows how to lunge freely or on a line, change directions from your body language, then face and come to you when you whistle. He follows you around slowly and respectfully in any direction, backs when you back, and side passes to you on the ground without ever touching him. Sue has impeccable ground manners and respects your space. We have spent excessive time desensitizing Sue to everything you can think of. In the saddle, Sue has had lots of time flexing, picking up his shoulders, responding to leg pressure, and yielding his hindquarters. He is very soft and supple with lots of feel. Sue is soft enough to be ridden in a simple smooth O-ring snaffle bit. He neck reins softly and easily one-handed, stops with a simple woah with your seat, and backs with the gentle motion of your legs. We have even ridden him bareback and bridleless, only using the pressure of our legs and fingers on his neck. He lopes both leads on cue, responds to leg pressure, side passes, and is super soft. He is so close to being able to do flying lead changes! Sue will go anywhere and through anything you ask. He is sure-footed, patient, and will carefully ease through the roughest of country without hesitation. He takes his time and never gets in a hurry or panics when in a tight spot. Sue can pack all your gear up the mountain and is stout with enough stamina to ride all day in high country. He is good with water, bridges, cattle, flags, bullwhips, kids, opening/closing gates, traffic, wagons, and ponying other horses. Sue has experience bird hunting and is excellent with dogs, gunfire, and wildlife.
Sue loves affection and genuinely wants to be with you. He begs for your attention and loves not only his treats but his tricks, too! Sueās list of tricks is more than any horse I know! First off, LIBERTY! Sue absolutely loves playing with you at liberty and will do it anywhere, even out of the arena! Sue is just like a big puppy dog! He lays down with a simple point of your finger when you say lay down. Sue sits like a dog when you ask him and will even lay his head in your lap and take a nap! He loves to take your hat off your head and shake it. Sue even plays FETCH! You can throw your hat on the ground and tell him to get it, and he will bring it back to you. If you drop your hat on the ground while riding, donāt worry, Sue will pick it up and reach around to hand it to you! He stands in the back of the cart to push you around while honking the horn and trying to take your hat off your head. Gunfire and fireworks are also on his list of tricks! You can shoot clay targets with a shotgun from his back. You can shoot balloons with a pistol fast or slow and fireworks from his back! How many horses do you know that go fishing? You can pack your gear and fishing pole and take Sue fishing with you! Catch your fish from his back and never have to walk! You can rope off of him and drag logs. He is even good with the sound of chainsaws. He side passes over to the mounting block for easy mounting and dismounting from BOTH sides and will always stand still until you are ready to go.
Sue is easy to catch and gets along well with other horses. He is broke to hobbles and stands without being tied for saddling, bathing, and grooming. He will drop his head with slight pressure at his poll and takes the bridle gently. Sue is quiet and trustworthy to be ridden out by himself or with a large group of horses. Sue has no spook and no bad habits. He picks up all four feet without hesitation and stands perfectly for the farrier. He loads and backs out of the trailer easily without hesitation. He will even load himself.
Sueās potential is endless! He has the foundation and experience to go in any direction you may desire. Sue is a fun, personable horse who will give you his whole heart in everything he does. From easy to extreme trail riding, endurance riding, tricks, liberty, mounted shooting, or something safe for the kids to love, Sue really checks all the boxes! He isnāt just another horse; he deserves tons of love and attention. He truly is SPECIAL and is that once-in-a-lifetime horse you will spend years trying to find. Sue has been so much fun over the past four years and we are so proud of the horse he has become. His loving, playful personality will always make you smile when you're with him. We love him and know you will, too! What's not to love? If youād like to learn more about Sue or want to schedule a visit to see him, please call us! In addition, W2 Horses is offering to spend time with the new owner to teach them all of Sueās cues and tricks to make it an easy transition for him and his new owner!
